The experience
The tour starts at the Barreira do Inferno Launch Center and Museum on the outskirts of Natal, Brazil's first rocket launch base established in 1965. The museum holds rockets, satellite models, and historical equipment from the country's aerospace program, with views of the coast where launches once took place. From there, the 4x4 moves inland to Pirangi do Norte in Parnamirim to walk the wooden pathways through the World's Largest Cashew Tree: a single tree covering over 8,500 square meters that grew into a forest shape after a genetic mutation allowed its branches to root again.
The route then turns toward the lagoons and beaches of Nísia Floresta. You'll swim or rest at Lagoa do Arroz, explore the trails and dunes of Parque das Dunas near Natal, and dive into the turquoise waters of Lagoa do Carcará. The Natural Pools of Praia de Camurupim come next: coral-formed pools that trap calm, clear water at low tide, ideal for snorkeling or floating. A guide leads the stops. Transportation, a cooler with ice, and entrance to Alcaçuz Lagoon are included. Skibunda (a local refreshment) rounds out the inclusions.
The afternoon takes you to the Mirante dos Golfinhos at Tabatinga, a clifftop viewpoint where dolphins often play in the waves below. The tour ends at the Búzios Dunes as the sun sets over the golden sand and turquoise water. Eight hours total. Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and a hat. Some sites sell food and drinks, and a few offer optional activities (ATV rides on Lagoa do Carcará, visits to the cashew tree market) with fees you pay directly at the location. Cash is recommended, as digital payments aren't accepted everywhere.
