Step-by-step itinerary
Glass platform and Abusado ride
- Walk on the glass platform
- Ride the Abusado monorail
- Contemplate Vale da Ferradura views
The experience
The glass platform is the anchor: you walk out onto it 360 meters above the Caí River, with nothing between you and the valley floor. From there, you move to the Abusado, a monorail with suspended chairs that takes you on a 2.5-minute float through Horseshoe Valley at a gentle 3 km/h. The ride is designed to let you take in the landscape without rushing. The whole point is to see it, not to race through it. The suspended-chair setup means you're moving through the valley itself, not watching it from a fixed vantage point.
The third piece is the Ferro Passar Memorial, included with the same ticket. The combo bundles all three without requiring separate bookings or additional fees. All areas are wheelchair accessible, and strollers work throughout. The main constraint is practical: you can't bring phones, cameras, or any electronics onto the Abusado, and personal items go into lockers that you unlock with a QR code from your ticket. Nothing can be carried into the valley: the rule exists to keep the area safe. If you're under 1.20m tall, you won't be able to ride the Abusado, though the platform and memorial remain open to you.
