The experience

Day one centers on the Argentine side. You board the jungle train with open-air wagons to reach Devil's Gorge, where the falls drop more than 82 meters across a cataract over 150 meters wide. From there, the Upper and Lower trails wind through the jungle on walkways, bringing you close to the falls and the landmark "two sisters" cascade. The park has restaurants and rest stops built into the route.

Day two splits between the Brazilian side and the Bird Park. On the Brazilian side, your guide drives an authorized vehicle into the park and walks you along the 1,200-meter cataract trail, where contemplation mirrors let you see individual jumps up close. The trail ends at Devil's Gorge again, this time from the Brazilian vantage: the falls appear roughly 90 meters high from this angle. The Bird Park follows, set inside the Atlantic Forest. You walk through aviaries and natural habitats to see araras, tucans, parrots, owls and other species at close range. The park also runs a conservation program for the forest and its birds.

Transport between sites happens in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle. A bilingual guide (Portuguese, English, Spanish) travels with you both days. Optional add-ons like the Macuco Safari boat tour, helicopter rides, or lunch can be arranged separately. The order of the two days can be swapped to fit your schedule.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Infant (under 7).

What exactly is Devil's Gorge and why does it matter on both sides of the falls?

Devil's Gorge is the largest single cascade at Iguazu, dropping roughly 82 meters on the Argentine side and appearing about 90 meters high from the Brazilian viewpoint. On day one, you reach it by jungle train and then walk the Upper and Lower trails nearby. On day two, you see it again from the Brazilian side's cataract trail, so you get two completely different perspectives of the same landmark.

How much walking is involved on each day?

Day one includes the jungle train ride to Devil's Gorge, then the Upper and Lower trails through the park on foot. These are walkways in the middle of the jungle, but the park has restaurants and rest stops along the way. Day two involves a 1,200-meter walk along the Brazilian cataract trail with mirrors for closer views, ending at Devil's Gorge. Both days are designed for all fitness levels, and you set the pace with your guide.

What's the Bird Park like, and is it worth the time?

The Bird Park is an enclosed space inside the Atlantic Forest where you walk through aviaries and natural habitats to see araras, tucans, parrots, owls and other species up close. It's a separate attraction from the falls themselves, focused on birds and forest conservation rather than waterfalls. Many visitors find it a good contrast to the scale and power of the falls.

Can I add the boat tour or helicopter ride?

Yes. The Macuco Safari (a boat tour), helicopter rides, and lunch can all be booked as optional add-ons during the tour. Your guide can arrange these, and you pay separately for them.

Do I need to buy park tickets in advance?

No. Park tickets are purchased on site when you arrive, and you can pay with a credit card at the gate. Your tour price covers the guide, vehicle, and transport between sites, but not the park entries themselves.
