You make the pralines yourself, not just watch someone else do it.

A two-hour chocolate-making class in Ghent where you craft Belgian pralines from scratch under a chocolatier's guidance, then taste Belgian beer during the session. Children from age 12 are welcome. Minors receive non-alcoholic drinks. Each chocolate station is shared by two participants, and all materials are provided.

The experience

You'll work at a shared chocolate station with one other participant, guided by an expert chocolatier through the steps of making traditional Belgian pralines. The workshop focuses on both the technique and the enjoyment. You're learning how to build the shells and fill them, not sitting through a lecture. Dark chocolate forms the praline shell. Milk chocolate becomes the ganache filling. As you work, you'll taste Belgian beer (or non-alcoholic drinks if you're under 18), which shifts the whole experience from a craft class into something closer to a tasting session where the flavors matter as much as the making.

The two-hour session leaves you with the pralines you've made, bottled water, and the skills to repeat the process at home. The workshop runs in English, though the hosts can translate parts if needed. Children aged 12 and up can join, though anyone under 16 must have an adult present at the station. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, let the operator know when you book.
