The Experience

I still remember the first glimpse of Hunte’s Garden—just this wild green bowl with sunlight dripping through the leaves. St Nicholas Abbey was last—a real 17th-century plantation house tucked among sugar cane fields. Some people did the house tour, others took a walk on one of the trails. I chose the rum tasting (no regrets). The staff seemed genuinely proud to share their home’s story; one woman even showed me her favorite spot under an old tree where she said her grandfather used to sit.
