The experience
How do you get to the turtles without renting a car or joining a crowded group? The operator picks you up from your ship or resort and drives you to a secluded bay where Green Sea Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles live. You snorkel as long as you want. There's no clock running. The bay stays quiet because the group stays small and private. Face masks and snorkel equipment are provided. You bring nothing but yourself and a willingness to get in the water.
After snorkeling, the day branches into stops you choose. The Bahamian Brewery shows you how they make seven local beers, including a pink grapefruit radler and a passion fruit one. Next door, the Bahamas Distilling Co. makes rums and spirits on the island. The Open-Air Farmers Market is where conch fritters come from and where you can pick up souvenirs. Port Lucaya Marketplace has the Bahamas Maritime Museum if you want it, plus more shops. None of these are mandatory: your guide adjusts the route to what interests you.
The afternoon ends on a beach with a wooden deck overlooking the water. You can order a tropical drink, swim, walk the sand bars that stretch for miles, collect shells or simply sit and watch. The whole day runs about six hours from pickup to return. An air-conditioned vehicle, hand sanitizer and bottled water come with it. Lunch is on you.

Is this one for you?The operator picks you up from your ship or resort and drives you the whole day, so you don't need a rental car or a taxi negotiation. The private route also means the snorkeling bay stays quiet and the pace is yours alone, not a group's schedule.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and French.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 11 years). Under 5: they can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.
Can I really swim with the sea turtles, or do I just watch them from a distance?
You snorkel in the same bay where the turtles live and swim. The activity is called snorkel and swim with them because you're in the water together, not watching from a boat. The turtles are named for their distinguishing features, so you might recognize a particular one while you're down there.
What if I'm not a strong swimmer or I've never snorkeled before?
Children from age 5 are welcome, and the operator notes that a moderate level of physical fitness is needed. The bay is secluded and the group is private, so the guide can work with your comfort level. Face masks and snorkel equipment are provided, and you set how long you stay in the water.
Do I have to visit the brewery, market and beach, or can I skip some stops?
The stops after snorkeling (the brewery, distillery, farmers market, marketplace and beach) are part of the day, but your guide adjusts based on what you want to do. There's no fixed schedule, so you decide how much time to spend at each place or whether to skip one entirely.
What's included in the price, and what do I need to pay for separately?
Snorkel gear, face masks, bottled water, private transportation, an air-conditioned vehicle and a live guide are included. Drinks and food at the brewery, distillery, market and beach are on you: the tropical drinks and native dishes at the final beach stop are available to order, not provided.
How long is the whole experience, and when do I get back?
The activity runs about six hours from pickup to return. You set the pace at each stop, so the exact timing depends on what you choose to do, but the operator plans the route so you're back within that window.
Do I need to arrange my own transportation to meet the group, or does the operator pick me up?
The operator picks you up from your ship or resort and provides private transportation throughout the day in an air-conditioned vehicle. You don't arrange transport yourself.
