The experience

The boat holds up to seven guests and comes equipped with snorkel gear, fishing rods and tackle, bottled water and ice. A local captain guides the charter and knows where the coral is healthiest and which reefs hold the most fish. You decide how to spend the hours: anchor at one of the colored reefs scattered around the island, cast lines for deep sea or inshore species, swim in the turquoise shallows, or motor out to Gilligan's Island, one of the most photographed spots in the Bahamas. The captain can also run you to Rose Island, where Footprints Beach Bar and Grill sits on white sand with volleyball, a full bar and lunch available if you want to stop.

A half-day charter runs four hours. A full day is eight. The boat departs from Nassau and returns there, so you're not ferried to a marina or a distant launch point. Cruise ship passengers can book as long as they provide their ship name, docking time and re-boarding deadline at checkout: the captain times the return to get you back before departure. Bottled water and ice are on board. Bring sunscreen and a towel, or rent one if you need it.

Top questions

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

Can I snorkel and fish on the same charter?

Yes. The boat carries both snorkel gear and fishing equipment, so you can split the day between reefs and fishing grounds, or do both at the same stop if the captain finds a spot with both.

What's the difference between the half-day and full-day charter?

The half-day charter is four hours. The full day is eight. Both include the same gear and captain. A longer day lets you reach more distant reefs or islands, or spend more time at one location without rushing.

Does the charter go to Gilligan's Island?

Gilligan's Island is one of the destinations the captain can take you to, but it's not a required stop. You decide which reefs and islands you want to visit when you book, and the captain adjusts based on conditions and what you want to do.

Is lunch included?

No. If you want to eat at Footprints Beach Bar and Grill on Rose Island, you pay for food and drinks there, plus a landing fee. Bottled water is provided on the boat.

Do I need snorkeling experience?

No. The charter is suitable for all fitness levels. The captain provides snorkel gear and can show you how to use it. You can also just swim or fish instead if you prefer.

What if I'm arriving on a cruise ship?

Cruise passengers can book this charter. At checkout, provide your ship name, the time you dock, when you can disembark and when you must be back on board. The captain will time the return to meet your re-boarding deadline.
