The experience

The boat comes equipped with snorkel gear, fishing rods and all necessary tackle, so you decide how to spend your time on the water instead of following a set itinerary. A local captain runs the charter and knows where the reef is clearest and where the fish are biting. Bottled water and ice are on board, along with local beer.

Snorkeling stops take you to a colorful coral reef where you can see what lives there without a guide narrating it. If fishing appeals more, you can switch to deep sea or inshore fishing with the gear already rigged. Gilligan's Island, one of the most photographed islands in the Bahamas, is another option. You can anchor and swim or just take photos from the boat. On afternoon or full-day charters, Footprints Beach Bar and Grill on Rose Island becomes an add-on: the bar sits on turquoise water with a white sand beach, and you can order lunch, play volleyball or billiards, and stay as long as the charter time allows (lunch and the landing fee are separate).

Cruise ship passengers book by providing the ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time so the captain can time the return. The boat holds up to 10 guests, so families or small groups travel together without joining strangers.
