The experience
The class runs about three hours from the moment you arrive at Seanette's home. You start with a refreshing welcome cocktail and a bite, then move into the kitchen to learn hands-on. Seanette walks you through the seasoning and spicing of three dishes (conch fritters, garlic snapper with peas n' rice, and island-spiced glazed carrots) using the techniques and local ingredients that define Bahamian cooking. The cooking portion takes roughly an hour and a half before you step back from the counter.
Then you gather around the table to eat what you made, sharing the meal with your host and enjoying local beer or wine. A traditional Bahamian dessert (guava duff, coconut tart, or pineapple tartlets) closes the meal. You pick lunch or dinner when you book, and Seanette handles any dietary needs: vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-free options are all available if you note them at checkout.
Round-trip transfers are included from the cruise port, downtown Nassau, or Paradise Island. Seanette's home sits about 15 minutes from Atlantis and 25 minutes from Baha Mar. If you're staying on the western side of the island, you'll arrange and pay an additional transport fee directly with the host. The class runs in English or Spanish depending on your preference.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years); Infant (under 4): free.
What three dishes will I learn to cook?
Conch fritters, garlic snapper served with peas n' rice in a savory tomato and pepper sauce, and island-spiced glazed carrots. Seanette also prepares a traditional Bahamian dessert (guava duff, coconut tart, or pineapple tartlets), which you'll enjoy at the end of the meal.
Does the class include a meal?
Yes, you eat everything you cook together at Seanette's table with local beer or wine included. The dessert is prepared in advance due to its longer cooking time, so you don't make that part yourself.
Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Seanette can modify the menu for vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-free diets. Include your dietary needs when you book so she can prepare accordingly.
What's included in the transfers?
Round-trip pickup and drop-off from the cruise port, downtown Nassau, or Paradise Island are included in the price. If you're staying on the western side of the island like Baha Mar or Cable Beach, you'll pay an additional transport fee directly to Seanette.
Can I choose between lunch and dinner?
Yes, you pick either a lunch or dinner class when you book. Both follow the same hands-on cooking and meal format.
