The experience
The tour starts at your hotel with door-to-door pickup, then moves through Baku's central landmarks. The Old City (a UNESCO World Heritage site dating back at least to the 12th century) is where you'll spend time walking the fortified streets, seeing the Maiden Tower (which houses a museum and offers views from its roof), the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, and monuments to poets Mirza Alakbar Sabir and Aliaga Vahid. Your guide shows you souvenir shops and explains the history layered into the stone.
From there, the route takes in the Flame Towers, three 182-meter skyscrapers that symbolize fire and dominate Baku's skyline, then moves to Highland Park (also called Viewing Square) for a break with fresh air and a view of the bay. The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum sits on the seafront and holds the world's largest collection of Azerbaijani carpets and rugs. You'll also pass through Little Venice, the man-made waterway system with canals and stone bridges along Baku Boulevard, and see the Heydar Aliyev Center, the curved modernist complex designed by Zaha Hadid. If you want to add a boat tour of Baku Bay, that can be arranged.
Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French, or one of several other languages. The vehicle is air-conditioned, and bottled water is provided. Because this is a private tour, only your group participates, so the pace and stops are yours to set. The tour works best in good weather. If conditions force a cancellation, you'll be offered another date or a full refund.

Is this one for you?Hotel pickup means you don't need to arrange transport or navigate to a meeting point, which matters if you're staying outside the city center or without a rental car. The private format lets you linger at any stop (the Old City's narrow streets, the Maiden Tower's roof views, or the carpet museum) without keeping a group waiting.
