The experience
Barossa Valley holds more than 150 wineries and over 80 cellar doors, home to some of the world's oldest continuously producing Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. A private tour means you're not following a set schedule or stopping where a group votes to stop. You decide which producers to taste at, whether to drive through the classic towns or focus on the vineyards themselves, and how much time each stop deserves. Your host John brings over 35 years in the liquor, hospitality and travel industries, so he knows which cellar doors suit what you're after, but the itinerary stays yours to shape.
The BMW 530i M Sports Series sedan carries a maximum of four people, which means no strangers sharing the back seat and no compromises on where the day goes. Pickup happens from a designated meeting point in Adelaide, and the five-hour window gives you real time to taste without rushing between stops. If a winery captures you or you want to add another, you can extend the tour on the day itself. Bottled water is included. Food and lunch are not, though you can order snacks ahead if you want something to eat during the drive.
