The experience
What makes Aruba a diving destination is the Antilla, a 400-foot shipwreck that ranks among the largest in the Caribbean, along with a string of other wrecks and coral formations that line the protected western and southern coasts. Most sites sit a short distance from the hotels in Palm Beach, so you spend less time traveling and more time underwater. Dive depths range from roughly 20 to 100 feet depending on the site, and the shallow, calm conditions let you move through the water with control and see the marine life clearly: stingrays, moray eels, manta rays, barracudas and yellowtail all work these reefs.
You arrive at the pier as a certified diver and bring your certification card to prove you've dived within the past two years. A Red Sail dive master leads the dive and selects the sites based on the day's conditions. You're responsible for setting up your own equipment (BCD, regulator, mask, fins, tank and weights), and maintaining safe diving practices throughout. The dive runs around four hours. Tank, weights, belt, mask and fins come with the booking, along with water and fruit. You choose between a one-tank afternoon dive or a two-tank morning dive when you book.
Junior divers ages 10 and 11 can join the afternoon one-tank dive only, since morning two-tank dives go deeper than their certification allows. All divers may be asked to complete a medical questionnaire before the dive. Public transportation options are available near the pier if you're not arranging your own transport to the waterfront.

What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and Dutch.
What's the Antilla wreck like when you get down to it?
The Antilla is a 400-foot shipwreck, one of the largest in the Caribbean, and sits within the range of dive sites along Aruba's western and southern coasts. It's one of the main attractions divers come to explore, alongside coral formations and the marine life that inhabits the reef.
Do I need to bring my own diving gear or is it provided?
Tank, BCD, regulator, mask, fins, weights and belt are all included with your dive. You're responsible for setting up your own equipment before entering the water, and you must bring your certification card to show the dive master before the dive begins.
How deep do the dive sites go?
Aruba's dive sites range from approximately 20 to 100 feet deep depending on which site the dive master selects based on the day's sea conditions. Shallower sites let you stay longer and move more comfortably. Deeper sites reach the larger wrecks and formations.
Can I dive if I haven't been diving in a while?
You must have completed a dive within the two years before your booking and hold a valid certification card. All divers are also subject to medical clearance and may be asked to complete a medical questionnaire before the dive.
What animals will I see underwater?
Marine life in Aruba's waters includes stingrays, moray eels, manta rays, barracudas and yellowtail, all of which inhabit the vibrant offshore reefs and wreck sites you'll explore during the dive.
