The experience
This is a shore dive, which means you enter the water from Mangel Halto beach rather than from a boat. A PADI instructor meets you at the Nautilus dive center, where showers, lockers and restrooms are available before and after. You choose between a one-tank or two-tank option at checkout. Tanks and weights are included. You bring your own regulator, mask and fins, or rent them separately if needed. The dive takes around two hours total.
Night diving reveals the reef in a completely different state. Nocturnal fish and creatures emerge, colors shift under your light, and the familiar daytime landscape becomes something you've never seen before, even if you've dived Aruba in daylight. The guide leads you through Mangel Halto Reef or The Hole in the Wall, depending on conditions. After the dive, water and bananas or chocolate are provided.
The guide speaks English, Spanish or Dutch. If you're new to night diving but already certified, the instructor's 33 years of experience means you're in hands that know this reef and how to lead divers safely through the dark. Children from age 10 are welcome on this dive.
