The experience
What happens underwater after the sun goes down is the draw here. You drop into warm water and watch the scene shift: day creatures settle into crevices while nocturnal organisms emerge under the beam of your dive light. The dive site is either a shallow reef or a shipwreck, depending on conditions and what the dive team chooses that night. Depth ranges from 25 to 50 feet, and you stay down for 40 minutes on the buddy system with your certified instructor.
You'll need a valid PADI, SSI, NAUI, SDI, PDIC, YMCA, IDEA or CMAS certification to book. This is for certified divers only. Bring a bathing suit and towel. The operator provides weights, belt, an instructor in English, Spanish, German or Dutch, and drinks after the dive. Check in 30 minutes before departure with your e-voucher. Weather can shift the dive location without notice, so flexibility on the exact site is part of the booking. The activity takes roughly an hour total.
A few constraints matter for safety: you can't dive within 24 hours of arrival or before departure, and you must be in moderately good cardiovascular health with clear respiratory and circulatory systems. Individuals with heart problems, colds, epilepsy or asthma should not participate. Don't dive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and if you're pregnant or taking medication, check with your doctor first. Divers under 18 need a parent or legal guardian present.

Is this one for you?You lead the dive yourself on the buddy system with an instructor present. This suits certified divers who want to navigate the reef or wreck independently rather than follow a tour guide from point to point. The shared format means you'll dive with other certified divers, so it works best for those comfortable in a small group underwater.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, German and Dutch.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (14 to 17 years). Children under 14 can't be included in the booking.
What's the difference between a night dive and a day dive in Aruba?
Night dives transform the reef or wreck into a different ecosystem. Nocturnal creatures emerge and bioluminescent organisms glow under your dive light, while the daytime residents retreat. The same shallow sites become an entirely new experience after dark.
Do I need to bring my own diving equipment?
You bring a bathing suit and towel. The operator provides weights, belt, tank and all other gear needed for the dive. You must have a valid diving certification from PADI, SSI, NAUI, SDI, PDIC, YMCA, IDEA or CMAS.
How deep do you go on this night dive?
The dive depth ranges from 25 to 50 feet depending on whether you're exploring a shallow reef or shipwreck. You stay at depth for 40 minutes on the buddy system with your instructor.
Can I dive if I just arrived in Aruba?
No. For safety reasons, you cannot dive within 24 hours of arrival or within 24 hours before departure. Plan your night dive for the middle of your trip.
