The experience
Your guide walks you through a comprehensive orientation on land before you enter the water. You'll learn how to use the equipment, how to breathe underwater, and the basic techniques that keep diving safe and enjoyable. The instructor shows you everything step by step so you can feel confident the moment you're ready to go.
The introductory dive itself spans roughly two and a half hours. Your guide leads you into Aruba's Caribbean waters and shows you how to move, how to equalize pressure, and how to explore at a pace that feels right. You're not watching from a boat. You're the one operating the equipment, discovering what's below the surface with hands-on instruction the whole way. The guides are Aruban and grew up diving these reefs. They know the local underwater life and the best spots to see it. They also photograph your dive and give you the pictures free.
All scuba equipment is provided. Bring a swimsuit and a towel. The operator handles the rest. One practical note: avoid flying on the same day as your dive. Decompression sickness is a real risk, so wait at least 12 to 24 hours after diving before you fly, depending on the depth and duration of your dive.

Is this one for you?The dive takes about two and a half hours in the water with a guide, so you're actively diving the whole time, not sitting on a boat. Book this if you want to learn by doing rather than watching, and if you can stay in Aruba at least until the next day before flying out.
