A 1.5-hour guided horseback ride through Aruba's Cunucu countryside, starting from a ranch near Palm Beach hotels and ending on the North East coast at sunset. All skill levels are welcome. The guide adjusts the pace to match your control. Hotel or cruise port pickup and drop-off are included, along with helmet use and a local guide who speaks English, Spanish or Dutch.

The experience

The ride starts at a ranch a short drive from most major hotels in the Palm Beach area. After you complete waivers and get mounted, your guide checks how well you handle your horse and sets the pace from there. You'll wind through the typical Aruban countryside, the Cunucu, where donkeys, iguanas, parakeets and other animals live, heading toward the North East coast on a series of trails the guide chooses based on the group's skill level.

The destination is a hilltop where you watch the sunset over the island. Bring a camera. The views are the reason you're riding to this spot. Before and after the ride, the ranch has a cozy country bar where you can buy cold drinks and grilled sandwiches if you want to stay longer.

Round-trip transportation is included from Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, Tierra del Sol, the cruise ship terminal or Renaissance hotels. The driver picks you up 45 to 20 minutes before departure and waits no longer than 5 minutes at the pickup location. If you're driving yourself, arrive at the ranch 20 minutes early. Children from age 6 are welcome. Those under 5 can ride with a parent at no extra cost.

What happens if my cruise ship is late returning to port?

Refunds are not issued if the activity is missed due to late arrival of the cruise ship. If you think you'll be cutting it close, call ahead to discuss rescheduling options, though rescheduling comes with extra cost if availability exists.
