The experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel in an air-conditioned minivan, which brings you to a ranch in the heart of Aruba's countryside. Once there, you complete waivers, meet your guide and horse, and get mounted with instructions tailored to your level. The guide watches how well you control your horse right away and builds the ride from there.
You'll ride through the Cunucu (the traditional Aruban interior with no streets or traffic), where iguanas and parakeets roam free. The route can include a beach, and if the guide sees you can handle your horse well, you'll gallop across the dunes of soft white sand. The north coast's rocky shores and crashing waves are part of the scenery, and you'll have time to stop for photos. Other trails might be chosen depending on your skill and what you want to see that day.
Before and after the ride, the ranch bar serves cold drinks and coffee. Their famous Dutch grilled sandwiches are available to purchase. The minivan brings you back to your hotel afterward. Choose from English or western tack when you book, and pick one of two departure times that fit your schedule.
