The Experience
The tour starts with pickup from your hotel and a drive south on National Route 3 toward the park. Along the way, the bus stops for views of the Beagle Channel, the Ushuaia peninsula, and the Willie and Les Eclaireurs archipelagos before entering the park itself. The guide explains the native flora and fauna as you travel through a landscape of lakes, lagoons and rivers framed by mountains and forest.
Inside the park, you visit Acigami Lake—a glacial-fed body of water with crystalline water and mountain views—and Lapataia Bay, where you'll find the iconic sign marking the southern terminus of National Route 3. The bus is equipped with air conditioning and heating, so the ride stays comfortable as the landscape changes. The whole park portion takes about half the day.
If you choose the combined option, you'll head to the End of the World Station after the park tour and board the historic train. The ride covers the final 7 km of what was once a 25 km route used to transport prisoners nearly a century ago. From the train, you see the same Southern Patagonian landscape you've already walked through, but from a different vantage. The train ride lasts one hour and rounds out the experience before you return to your hotel.
