The Experience
You get picked up from your Mendoza hotel and driven into the foothills toward Potrerillos. The ride itself is part of the day — the landscape opens as you climb toward the pre-range, and by the time you arrive, the Mendoza River and the mountain wall are already in front of you. The first activity is horseback riding through the terrain with views of the river and the range. A guide leads the cavalcade, and the route and difficulty are set when you book.
Between the riding and the water, you sit down to a three-course lunch overlooking the river. The main course is rib cooked over flames, served with a non-alcoholic drink. Then comes the rafting — a security talk, a wetsuit, life jacket, helmet and water shoes, and roughly an hour navigating the Mendoza River in its Andean meltwater state. The current and the cold are real; the guide and the group are with you the whole way.
The day runs seven to nine hours total, and the transfer back to Mendoza closes it. Technical equipment, specialized instructors, insurance and all the logistics are included, so you show up ready to ride and paddle without organizing each piece separately. The guide speaks English or Spanish, and you choose which language when you book.

How hard is the rafting on the Mendoza River?
The rafting is roughly one hour on Andean meltwater, which is cold and fast enough to count as genuine whitewater. A safety talk and full gear — wetsuit, life jacket, helmet and water shoes — come before you get in the boat, and a guide navigates the section with you.
What's included in the lunch?
A three-course lunch served overlooking the river, with the main course being rib cooked over flames and a non-alcoholic drink. Alcoholic beverages are optional and available for an extra charge.
Does the price include the transfer from my hotel?
Yes, private pickup and drop-off from selected Mendoza accommodations are included in the price. The drive to Potrerillos is part of the experience.
What should I bring or wear?
Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet and bring a change for after. All technical gear for both activities — saddle and tack for riding, wetsuit and safety equipment for rafting — is provided. Sunscreen and a hat are useful for the ride.
Is this suitable for someone visiting Mendoza for the first time?
Yes, it's designed for travelers new to the region who want to combine nature, adrenaline and mountain food in one day without organizing separate services. The guide handles the logistics and leads both activities, so you focus on the riding and the river.
