Horseback Riding in Buenos Aires: 2 hours with asado
Two hours in the saddle, then a full asado spread
Horseback riding in the Pampas near Buenos Aires pairs two hours of guided riding with a traditional Argentine asado lunch. You choose your horse from over 150 animals, ride at a pace the guide adapts to your level, and afterward eat grilled steak, chimichurri, salads and dessert with premium wine. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
The experience
The day starts with a campo breakfast of mate and regional pastries at the estancia, where the guide teaches you the tradition of preparing and drinking mate before you head out. You'll pick your horse from a herd of more than 150, matched to your experience level, and spend roughly two hours riding through the Pampas. The bilingual guide stays close and teaches you everything about handling the horse. The pace adjusts to yours so you're not rushed or held back.
After the ride, the asado begins: grilled steak with chimichurri and salsa criolla, roasted vegetables, salads and dessert, all paired with premium wine. This is the meal that finishes the gaucho experience. The whole outing runs about eight hours from hotel pickup to drop-off, so plan the day around it rather than as a quick add-on.
