A half-day private fishing trip on one of three lakes near Bariloche—Nahuel Huapi, Moreno or Gutiérrez—where you fish by boat and from the banks with an expert guide who speaks English or Spanish. You pick the lake, the fishing style (fly, spinning or trolling), and whether you go in the morning or afternoon. All tackle, waders and gear are provided; hotel pickup and drop-off in Bariloche are included. The fishing season runs November through April, though Moreno Lake stays open year-round.

The Experience

What lake suits your day? Nahuel Huapi is the largest and most central lake in the national park; Gutiérrez is the choice when wind picks up; Moreno stays open all year when the others close. You'll pick one when you book, along with your fishing method—fly fishing, spinning, or trolling—and whether you want the morning or afternoon slot. Your guide meets you at your hotel in Bariloche and drives you to the port, where the trip begins with a rundown of the technique you've chosen and what trout species you might encounter: rainbow, brown, and fontinalis.

The boat is a semi-rigid designed for two fishermen, and the guide navigates roughly 12 kilometers across the lake, stopping often to wade the banks where the fish hold. You're fishing the whole time—drifting with the current, casting from the boat, then wading into the shallows at the best spots. The guide explains the water, the history of the place, and what the fish are doing. All the gear stays with you: rods, reels, lines, flies, waders, shoes—nothing to rent separately or bring yourself. No experience is required; the guide customizes the day around what you know.

After six hours, the guide takes you to the end of the lake where a vehicle and trailer are waiting to drive you back to your hotel in Bariloche. The whole day—transport, guide, all equipment, snacks and beverages—is arranged and included. You show up ready to fish.
