The day starts with a pickup from your Dong Hoi hotel or train station between 7:15 and 7:45 AM, followed by a second collection from Phong Nha Village around 8:30 AM. By 9 AM you're at Paradise Cave, where a 1.6 km electric vehicle ride takes you to the entrance. Inside, wooden staircases climb through a vast chamber with ceilings 40 to 60 meters high and a width of 120 meters. LED lighting picks out flower-shaped stalagmites, stalactite waterfalls, and named formations like the Rong House and Cham Towers. Two hours of walking and climbing through the cave leaves time to absorb the scale before you return to the parking area.

Lunch at a local restaurant in the national park follows, then at 1:30 PM you board a traditional dragon boat for a 30-minute cruise on the Son River. The boat winds past riverside villages and limestone mountains before reaching Phong Nha Cave. Inside, illuminated stalactites and hidden sandbanks create a landscape that shifts as the boat moves through. You'll walk through corridors and learn about ancient Cham inscriptions carved into the rock, including the treasure of King Ham Nghi. The cave sections have names (Bi Ky, Co Tien, Cung Dinh), and each one reveals a different formation.

At 4:15 PM you arrive at Duck Tang Farm, where the pace changes entirely.
