The experience

The day starts with pickup at your hotel in Dong Hoi or Phong Nha village, then a drive to Paradise Cave. A golf cart takes you 1.6 kilometers through the jungle from the main gate, and you climb to the mouth of the cave: a route that opens onto views of the mountains rising around it. Inside, Paradise Cave stretches as one of the longest dry caves in Asia, and you explore it on foot with your guide.

After climbing back down, lunch happens at a local restaurant in Phong Nha village, where you eat a Vietnamese dish. Then comes the second cave: a 25-minute dragonboat ride takes you to Phong Nha Cave, which is built around an underground river. You travel by boat into the cave, then walk 300 meters deeper on foot to see the rock formations before the boat carries you back out. By 5 p.m., you're dropped at your hotel in Dong Hoi or Phong Nha village.
