Forty minutes each way, and it's genuinely quiet out there.

The whole day runs about ten hours door-to-door, which sounds long until you realize you've covered four completely different landscapes and two thousand years of history without once having to figure out transport or timing. You're back in Hanoi by evening, and your legs are tired in the way that means you actually did something.
