The Experience

Day one starts with a shuttle from Saigon to Long An, then you cycle about 30km through longan fruit farms on countryside roads to MyTho for lunch. After eating, you pick up a second bike at Cai Lay and spend two hours on peaceful country lanes through local villages and along canals. By evening you reach Cai Be, board a boat to the floating market, then cruise across the 1.5km-wide Mekong to your accommodation on Binh Hoa Phuoc island—the operator notes you can expect spectacular sunsets along the river. You spend the night in an eco guesthouse.

Day two is a half-hour morning ride under the green canopy on small paths shared mostly with pedestrians and local cyclists, leading to the ferry crossing for Vinh Long. Then comes an extended ride to Can Tho. The exact route changes depending on the group's cycling ability, but you pass through villages with brick kilns and terracotta roofs, past rice fields, and by numerous rural riverside villages. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

On day three, a morning boat trip takes you to Cai Rang floating market, one of the last authentic floating markets in Asia, where hundreds of boats zig-zag across the river. You also cruise along small quiet winding waterways around Can Tho and have the chance to visit a local rice husking mill or a factory producing vermicelli. After breakfast and lunch, you cycle for two more hours through scenic delta areas and rural villages alongside small canals, then return to Saigon by private van in the afternoon.
