The Experience

The tour picks you up from your hotel in District 1 between 7:30 and 8:00 AM on Day 1. You'll travel to My Tho and board a boat for a cruise down the Tien River, then move into Ben Tre to visit orchards where you taste tropical fruits, honey tea, and coconut candies. Lunch is countryside-style, made with local specialties. In the afternoon, you walk through a village and listen to Southern folk music before transferring to Can Tho for the night. On the way, you stop at Vinh Trang Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Tien Giang province, to see its giant Buddha statues and the architecture that blends Vietnamese, Chinese, Khmer, and French styles.

Day 2 starts early — you choose a 4:00 AM, 5:30 AM, or 7:30 AM departure to reach Cai Rang Floating Market before the crowds. This is the largest floating market in the delta, and you'll cruise among hundreds of merchant boats trading fresh produce and daily goods. A stop at a riverside village shows you how locals make fresh rice noodles by hand. Then comes the bamboo "monkey bridge," a narrow crossing that tests your balance, followed by a walk on Con Son Islet in the Hau River. Local families welcome you into their homes and gardens, and you eat a home-cooked Mekong lunch there before returning to Ho Chi Minh City or staying on in Can Tho.

The tour runs as a small group or private departure, and you pick your hotel tier (3-star, 4-star, or 5-star) at checkout. A live English-speaking guide leads both days. Breakfast and lunch are included; water and tropical fruit come with the package. Solo travelers pay a 15 USD surcharge.
