The experience
Five to twelve hours gives you room to move without rushing. The journey starts in Hue and ends in Hoi An (or the reverse), but the time between is yours to shape. Your private air-conditioned vehicle and English-speaking driver stay with you the whole way, and you choose where to stop, how long to linger, and which route suits your interests. Lap An Lagoon appears on every route: a calm coastal lagoon where traditional fishing boats sit on still water and oyster farming shapes the local economy. Lang Co Beach follows, a long sandy stretch between mountains and sea where you can step out, feel the coastal air, and see the forested ridges of Hai Van Pass rising ahead.
The Hai Van Pass itself is the spine of the journey. The road climbs through forest-covered mountains, curves along the coastline, and opens onto views that stretch across blue water and distant sandy beaches. The pass marks the old boundary between Hue's imperial territory and Da Nang, and its name means "Ocean Cloud Pass": on misty days, clouds drift across the ridges and change the whole landscape. Viewpoints along the route let you stop for photographs and take in the scale of the terrain. The entire drive through the pass is part of the experience, not just a transfer between two towns.
Which attraction you visit depends on the option you choose at checkout. Marble Mountains is a group of limestone hills near Da Nang with Buddhist temples, caves, and stone staircases carved into the rock. From the higher points you see panoramic views over the city and coast. Ba Na Hills sits high in the mountains and includes the Golden Bridge: a distinctive structure held aloft by two enormous stone hands, surrounded by forested valleys and accessible by one of the world's longest cable car systems. My Son Sanctuary is an ancient complex of red-brick Hindu temples built by the Champa civilization between the 4th and 13th centuries, set among green hills with an atmosphere that feels removed from the modern world. Lady Buddha is a 67-meter white statue at Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Peninsula, overlooking the East Sea from peaceful temple grounds. An Bang Cemetery near Hue, known as the "City of Ghosts," features elaborate family tombs decorated with mosaics, dragons, phoenixes, and ceramic details that reflect local traditions and ancestor veneration. Entrance fees for these attractions vary and are paid separately. Check your option details for which tickets are included.

Top questions
What is Lap An Lagoon like as a stop on the drive?
Lap An Lagoon is a calm coastal lagoon nestled between the Truong Son Mountains and Lang Co Bay, where traditional fishing boats and oyster farming define the local economy. The water reflects the surrounding mountains, and a leisurely walk along the shore lets you breathe in fresh coastal air and see how the landscape changes with light and tides. On clear days the combination of blue water, green mountains, and distant fishing boats creates especially good conditions for photographs.
Does the Hai Van Pass have viewpoints where you can stop?
Yes. The Hai Van Pass is one of Vietnam's most scenic mountain roads, and the route includes stops at viewpoints where you can step out, take in the dramatic landscape of forest-covered mountains and blue sea, and capture photographs. The pass rises above the coastline and the scenery changes constantly as the road climbs and curves through the mountains. On clear days you see long stretches of sandy coastline. On misty days, clouds drift across the ridges and create an atmospheric view.
What is included in the price and what costs extra?
The transfer includes door-to-door service within the city center, an English-speaking driver, bottled water, and a private air-conditioned vehicle. Lap An Lagoon and Lang Co Beach stops are included on every route. Entrance tickets to your chosen attraction (Marble Mountains, Ba Na Hills, My Son Sanctuary, Lady Buddha, or An Bang Cemetery) are paid separately and vary in price. Ba Na Hills and My Son Sanctuary have higher entrance fees than the others.
Can you stop for photos and spend time at places that interest you?
Yes. Your private journey is fully flexible. You can stop for photos, enjoy the scenery, and spend time at the places that interest you without joining a group. Your driver provides helpful local tips and assistance along the way, and the duration of five to twelve hours gives you room to move at your own pace.
What is the difference between traveling Hue to Hoi An versus the reverse?
The route and stops are the same whether you travel from Hue to Hoi An or from Hoi An to Hue. Your choice of attraction (Marble Mountains, Ba Na Hills, My Son Sanctuary, Lady Buddha, or An Bang Cemetery) determines which highlights you visit along the way, and the Hai Van Pass, Lap An Lagoon, and Lang Co Beach appear on every route regardless of direction.
