The Experience

Minh Mang Tomb opens the route. Built by Emperor Minh Mang (1820–1841), who began planning it in 1826, the complex sits on grounds designed to fit the landscape rather than dominate it. The architecture follows the classical pattern of Hue's royal tombs: outer walls, triple gate, salutation court, stele house, temples, lakes, pavilions and gardens leading to the tomb itself. Tu Duc Tomb comes next, set inside a pine forest.
