The Experience

Four hours gives you time to learn the story behind bamboo in Vietnam before you start making anything. The workshop opens with how families in Cam Thanh village have worked with bamboo across three generations, the special techniques they use to treat it, and why bamboo matters as a sustainable material. You'll see the traditional bamboo house structure and the household items the workshop has created—all things you could make yourself in the second half of the day.

The creative part starts after the instruction. You choose which item you want to make, get a general walkthrough of the process, then work on it with help from the facilitators. The tools and materials are provided. Once you finish the piece, you have time to draw your memories on it—a way to personalize what you've made—before wrapping up and taking it with you as a souvenir.

An English-speaking instructor leads the whole workshop and stays available while you work. Water is included. The space is wheelchair accessible, and public transportation options are nearby if you need them.
