The experience

The day starts in an open-top Jeep that climbs toward Hai Van Pass, the dramatic mountain boundary between Hue and Da Nang. Before the pass, you stop at Thanh Toan Bridge, a historic wooden structure about five kilometers from Hue set among golden rice fields, then continue to a local fishing village on Tam Giang Lagoon where you see traditional boats and the daily rhythms of the water. Nhi Ho Waterfall comes next: a natural pool fed by mountain streams where you can swim and rest in the shade before heading to Lang Co Beach, where you have time for lunch at one of the seafood restaurants lining the sand.

The Jeep takes you up the winding roads of Hai Van Pass itself, where you stop at the top to photograph the coastline and the layered green mountains falling away below. The pass marks the old boundary between kingdoms and still feels like a threshold: the road narrows, the air cools, and the views open in both directions. After crossing, a private car picks you up at Hai Van Gate and drives to Marble Mountain in Da Nang, where you explore the caves and tunnels carved into the five peaks that represent the classical elements. The driver then takes you to your hotel in Da Nang or Hoi An.
