Datanla Canyoning & Alpine Coaster: 7 Waterfall Challenges
Seven waterfall challenges and a 2,400-meter coaster in one day
This eight-hour activity in Da Lat pairs canyoning through Datanla Waterfalls with a ride on Asia's longest alpine coaster. You learn rappelling basics at the base camp, then descend an 18-meter cliff beside a 30-meter waterfall, traverse a Tyrolean line over the river, zipline 40 meters, jump seven meters into the pool, slide down rock channels and navigate a washing machine rapid. Between canyoning sections, you board the 2,400-meter coaster and control your own speed through the forest.

The experience
Datanla Waterfalls sits south of Da Lat, and the day starts with hotel pickup and a drive through the highlands to the base camp. Before you enter the water, the guides walk you through knot tying, harness fitting and rappelling technique. The foundation for everything that follows. Once they're satisfied you've got the basics, you clip in and descend your first 18-meter rappel into the river, with the 30-meter waterfall thundering beside you.
From there, the canyon opens up into seven distinct challenges. You traverse a Tyrolean line that swings you out over the river and waterfall, then zipline 40 meters through the canopy. The water slide sends you down a natural rock channel. The free jump drops you seven meters into a pool below. A section called the washing machine is a rapid-filled channel you swim and scramble through. Between canyoning sections, you walk through the forest and see the landscape the water has carved.
The alpine coaster is the second half of the day. You board individual cars on a 2,400-meter track engineered with a magnetic brake system that lets you control your own speed: accelerate on the straightaways, ease off to stop for photos at the overlooks, and roll through the turns at whatever pace suits you. The coaster runs through the forest canopy and passes the same waterfalls you just climbed through from below. Lunch, snacks, beer and Coca are included, along with a guide who speaks English and stays with you the whole day.

Is this one for you?The day is physically active (you're in and out of water, climbing, jumping and rappelling), so it suits travelers who are comfortable with sustained effort and water immersion. The canyoning and coaster together make a full day, so book this if you want to pack two distinct activities into one outing rather than split them across separate days.
