The experience
The day starts at the coffee farm itself. You'll see how local farmers cultivate the plantations and learn what daily life looks like on the land. If you arrive during harvest season, November through February, you pick ripe coffee cherries alongside the farmers and understand how they choose the best ones. The guide walks you through each step: how the cherries turn into green beans, how the milling prepares them for roasting, and how all of this shapes what ends up in your cup.
Then you roast your own coffee. Watch the green beans transform into aromatic coffee and learn how different roasting styles change the flavor. This is the part most visitors don't expect to do themselves. Afterward, you eat with the family: breakfast, lunch and dinner all included, made from seasonal local food and tofu. You'll have a bicycle and a Vietnamese hat to ride around the countryside and see how neighbors live, or simply sit with the coffee and the view.
The whole experience runs five hours. If you're staying in Dalat city or arriving at Lien Khuong airport without a car, you can add transport as part of your booking. The farm is wheelchair accessible, and infants can come along in a pram or stroller. Public transportation options are nearby if you prefer to arrange your own arrival.
