The experience

You meet your guide and Easy Rider at the Cao Bang Travel office before dawn, get fitted for a helmet and briefed on the mountain roads ahead. The guide is born and raised here. Someone who knows the switchbacks, the ethnic communities and the stories behind each stop. The ride covers 180 kilometers through some of Northern Vietnam's most dramatic terrain: you'll cross Ma Phuc Pass, a signature gateway of the Cao Bang Loop, and stop at a panoramic viewpoint where the road winds through limestone peaks and green valleys below.

The tour threads through working villages where traditional crafts still sustain families. In Phja Thap, watch Nung An artisans prepare incense from forest materials, shaping and sun-drying it by hand. In Phuc Sen, observe metalworkers forging tools that connect to everyday life and ethnic heritage. Then you descend into Nguom Ngao Cave, where stalactites and stalagmites rise from underground chambers carved into the limestone. Your guide explains the geology and the local stories tied to the landscape. Ban Gioc Waterfall comes next: the emerald Quay Son River feeds a cascade ringed by rice fields and limestone mountains. You walk to the main viewpoints for photographs, and when water levels and local conditions permit, take a bamboo raft closer to the falls. Afterward, climb the hillside steps to Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda, where the temple grounds offer panoramic views across the river valley and stories about the spiritual importance of this border region.

Lunch at a local restaurant features authentic Cao Bang dishes. The return to the city takes you back through the same dramatic passes, arriving at the office between 5:20 and 6:00 PM. Bottled water and breakfast are included. The guide handles all logistics and route decisions.
