The experience

The day starts with hotel pickup and a ride to a small local coffee shop near Ninh Kieu Wharf that still uses traditional brewing methods. After that cup, you head to a rice noodle factory where a noodle expert walks you through making Hu Tieu from scratch: shaping, cooking, and tasting what you've made. The factory also serves a crispy homemade rice noodle pizza that doesn't exist anywhere else. This hands-on part is the core of the morning session. The afternoon swaps it for a visit to Munir Ansay Khmer Pagoda instead.

Between the noodle work and the pagoda or monastery, the motorbike carries you down country roads and past the floating market, then to the Giàn Gừa: a Vietnamese-recognized heritage tree standing in the middle of hidden corners of Can Tho. You'll stop at a local fruit garden for tropical fruit (included) and have the option to cross a monkey bridge or rest with local snacks at your own cost. The route also passes Military Zone 9, where remnants of war (helicopters, tanks, jets) are on display. Your guide is with you the whole time, riding on the same motorbike and narrating in English.

The tour runs six hours total. Travel insurance and entrance fees are built in, so the only out-of-pocket costs are tips and any food or drinks you buy on your own. Children from age one can ride (infants sit on an adult's lap), though the operator notes this isn't suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or serious heart conditions. Public transport options exist nearby if you need an alternative to the motorbike.

Top questions

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 10 years); Infant (1 to 5 years): free.

What's the rice noodle workshop actually like?

You work with a noodle expert at a traditional factory to make Hu Tieu: the thin rice noodles central to Vietnamese cuisine. You shape and cook them yourself, then eat what you've made, plus a crispy homemade rice noodle pizza that's only served there.

Do I ride my own motorbike or share one with the guide?

Your guide rides the motorbike with you. It's one pax per one motorbike, so you're a passenger the whole time. Hotel pickup is included, and the guide speaks English and narrates as you travel.

What's the difference between the morning and afternoon sessions?

The morning session includes the rice noodle workshop. The afternoon swaps that for a visit to Munir Ansay Khmer Pagoda to learn about local spiritual life and ethnic diversity. Both sessions include the floating market, the Giàn Gừa heritage tree, and the fruit garden.

Is the floating market included, or do I need to pay extra?

The floating market is part of the route and included in the tour price. You watch it in the morning as part of the motorbike ride through Can Tho.

What happens if I don't want to cross the monkey bridge at the fruit garden?

The monkey bridge is optional. You can cross it as a challenge, or chill and rest at the fruit garden instead. Fresh tropical fruit is included either way.

Are meals included beyond coffee and fruit?

Coffee at the start and fresh fruit at the garden are included. The rice noodle pizza you make is part of the workshop. Any other food or drinks (like local snacks at the fruit garden) are at your own expense.
