The experience
The tour starts in Ako Dhong village, one of the wealthiest settlements of the Ede people in the region. You'll see how the local ethnic group runs their own coffee operation and taste what they produce. This is where the coffee kingdom of Vietnam actually begins, not in a shop or a roastery. From there the route moves through the province to show how local people make their living, with stops at working coffee plantations where you learn the basics of the business and see the plants and wildlife along the way.
DrayNur waterfall is the centerpiece of the afternoon. The drive passes through flora and fauna you won't see in the city, and the waterfall itself is the most beautiful in Daklak province. After lunch in Ban Don village, you visit the bamboo suspension bridge that crosses the Srepok river, then step inside a Laotian house that has stood for over 120 years. The tour ends at a local ethnic cemetery, a place most visitors never reach.
