The experience
Ba Na Hills sits at 1,487 meters above sea level with an average temperature between 17 and 20°C: cool enough that all four seasons appear in a single day. The cable car, the most modern in Southeast Asia, carries you up through cloud cover to reach clear peaks and views over the East Sea. Once at the top, you walk to the Golden Bridge (the structure famous for its massive stone hands), then visit the wine cellar, flower garden and Linh Ung Pagoda. The tour skips the theme park and French village, keeping the focus on these landmarks and the chance to photograph the bridge and mountain views.
After descending by cable car, you have a late lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Hoi An Ancient Town. This UNESCO World Heritage site sits along the Thu Bon river and has remained largely unchanged for centuries: a former international trading port where merchants from Holland, Portugal, Japan and China once gathered. You walk through the old town to see Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, Tan Ky Ancient House and the Japanese Covered Bridge, a symbol of the town's multicultural past. A cultural and historical museum rounds out the stops.
As evening falls, you board a sampan boat for a 20-minute ride along the small river to experience Hoi An life at night. After the boat returns, you walk to the lantern area to see the night market, or you can arrange dinner on your own. Hotel drop-off ends the tour. The whole day runs 9 to 10 hours from pickup to return.
