The experience
The cruise boards at Tuan Chau Port with welcome drinks and canapés, then settles you into a private balcony cabin overlooking the bay. Lunch arrives in the Bayview Dining Restaurant as you glide past limestone islands. The afternoon splits between kayaking or bamboo boat rides, towels provided, around Pearl Farm and Luon Cave, where the water runs so clear the limestone walls reflect above and below. Back on deck, you watch the sunset from the Calista Breeze Bar with afternoon tea, then join the chef for a Vietnamese cooking demonstration before a BBQ dinner under the stars. Squid fishing, a massage, or simply the rhythm of the bay fill the evening.
Morning breaks with an optional Vovinam martial arts session on the top deck: a uniquely Vietnamese practice that connects body and spirit as the sun rises over the water. Breakfast features hand-pounded squid rolls and local specialties, then you choose between kayaking to Surprise Cave (Sung Sot), with its million-year-old limestone formations, or exploring Thien Canh Son Cave by boat. The Chef's Performance Brunch sends you off with flavors as memorable as the vistas. You disembark by late morning and return to Hanoi with a refreshment stop, arriving around 2:30 to 3 p.m.
Four purchase options let you pick your bay: Bai Tu Long for a quieter, more exclusive experience; Ha Long Bay for the classic limestone scenery; a day-cruise version if you prefer not to overnight; or Lan Ha Bay near Cat Ba Island, where around 300 karst islands and fewer crowds create a more peaceful setting. All options include the private cabin, all meals, bilingual guides, activities, and admission fees. Pickup from Hanoi Old Quarter is included. Transfers outside that area carry a surcharge.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 8 years); Infant (under 4): free.
What's included in the meals on the 2-day cruise?
All meals are included: gourmet lunch on Day 1, BBQ dinner, Vietnamese breakfast on Day 2, and a Chef's Performance Brunch before disembark. The cooking demonstration on Day 1 teaches you to prepare Vietnamese specialties, and you eat what you learn.
Can I kayak or do I have to take a bamboo boat?
You choose at each stop. Kayaking and bamboo boat rides are both offered around Pearl Farm, Luon Cave, and the other sites. Towels are provided either way.
What is Surprise Cave like?
Surprise Cave (Sung Sot) is a natural wonder with million-year-old limestone formations inside. You explore it by kayak or bamboo boat, and the dazzling white karsts and emerald water create the atmosphere the cave's name promises.
Is the sunrise Vovinam class mandatory?
No, it's optional. The session happens on the top deck at sunrise on Day 2, but you can sleep in or watch from your balcony instead.
How far is Bai Tu Long Bay from the more crowded Ha Long Bay?
Bai Tu Long Bay is a quieter extension of Ha Long Bay, located a few kilometers away with fewer tourists and more peaceful landscapes. The cruise reaches it within the morning departure from Hanoi, and the calmer waters and hidden caves make it ideal if you want to avoid the crowds.
Do I need to arrange my own transfer from Hanoi?
Pickup from Hanoi Old Quarter is included in your booking. If your hotel is outside the Old Quarter, a surcharge of $25 per person applies for the round-trip transfer.
