The experience

Moso Island sits just offshore from Port Vila, reachable by a scenic 10-minute boat ride across Havannah Harbor. Once there, you spend the day in the water and on white sand: snorkeling through coral gardens where giant clams sit in pristine shallows, exploring the hidden Blue Cave with its turquoise lagoon, and swimming in clear water. A guide leads the snorkeling stops and points out the tropical fish and reef structure. All equipment is provided.

Lunch is an island-style BBQ prepared on the beach using local ingredients and served on coconut leaves. Between the water time, you'll meet locals in the village and learn how they live on the island. The boat route also passes photo stops overlooking Nguna, Pele and Emao Islands. Private air-conditioned transport picks you up from your hotel in Port Vila, and bottled water plus coffee or tea are included throughout the day.

Is this one for you?The full day is physically active (you're snorkeling multiple sites and swimming in open water), so it suits travelers who are comfortable in the ocean and have good fitness. An early start and five to six hours on the water and island mean you'll want to be ready for a full day of water time rather than a leisurely pace.
