The experience

The morning starts at Tanna Coffee Factory, where the staff walk you through the roasting and grinding process and explain how Vanuatu's beans go from tree to cup. You taste the local product at the café on-site and can buy coffee to take home. A ten-minute drive gets you to the ferry for Hideaway Island, where you step off the boat straight onto a snorkeling beach. The reef sits close enough that you can find clownfish and other species without a long swim, and the Underwater Post Office, a real mailbox on the seafloor, lets you post a letter or postcard from underwater if you want to.

After snorkeling, food and drinks are available at the restaurant on Hideaway, or you can bring a packed lunch. A forty-minute drive takes you to Blue Lagoon, where the afternoon tea is a fresh fruit platter prepared by the staff. On the way back to town, the itinerary includes a duty-free stop so you can pick up anything on your shopping list before the day ends.
