Three hours moving through the trees at your own pace, with nets and ziplines strung between platforms.

TimberTrek Treetop Challenge Adventure is a self-guided activity at an adventure park in West Virginia where you navigate nets, ziplines, swinging bridges, tunnels and suspended platforms across four acres of forest for three hours. You start on a kid-friendly course, then move to more demanding obstacles. All safety gear is provided, and trained guides stay on the ground to offer tips. Children from age 4 are welcome, and the pace is entirely yours to set.

The experience

You strap into a harness and spend three hours moving through the trees on your own schedule. The course starts with a kid-friendly section to get your bearings, then opens up to harder obstacles designed to test your balance and nerve. Nets, swinging bridges, ziplines, tunnels and suspended platforms make up the variety. You choose which challenges to tackle and how long to spend on each one. Trained guides positioned on the ground watch and offer tips if you want them, but the experience is self-guided. You're not following a group or waiting for anyone else to finish.

All safety gear comes with your booking: helmet, gloves and harness. The park spans four acres of forest, so there's room to spread out and move at whatever pace suits you. Groups of up to 20 can book together, which makes it popular for team-building days with friends, families or coworkers. The activity suits all fitness levels, so there's no need to train beforehand or worry about being the slowest person on the course.
