The experience

The tour opens at Reynolds Square with Jim Williams and the Olde Pink House Restaurant: his most visible Savannah project and the entry point into the book's cast. From there you move through the squares and streets where Berendt set his scenes: Chippewa Square, where Forrest Gump was filmed; the Federal District Court Building exterior, used in the movie's trial sequences; and the Hamilton-Turner Inn, where Joe Odom and Nancy Hillis (the real "Mandy") lived out their parts of the story. You'll stand in front of the Mercer-Williams House Museum and hear its role in the trials of Jim Williams. The tour does not include entry to the museum itself.
