The experience
You arrive and your group stays together in one vehicle for the entire day. The tour hits the landmarks most visitors come to see: Diamond Head's lookout on the eastern side of the island, where you get views of Honolulu and the coastline; Halona Blowhole on the southeastern coast, where waves force seawater up to 30 feet high through lava tubes; and a string of stops along the North Shore and in Haleiwa town. Haleiwa gets 90 minutes on its own so you can browse the surf galleries and boutiques, grab the world-famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice, or try Kahuku shrimp at one of the local spots. The Dole Plantation and Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut outlet are also on the route, along with a lookout at Chinaman's Hat in Kualoa Regional Park.
What makes this different from a fixed itinerary is that you set the stops. Your guide drives and narrates, but if your group wants to linger at one beach or skip a plantation, the day bends to fit. The vehicle is air-conditioned, and the operator has vans and larger motor coaches available depending on how many people are traveling together. A full day runs 9 to 10 hours, with the remaining time spent driving between stops rather than at each one.
Pickup is included in the booking. Infants can ride in a stroller or sit on an adult's lap. The tour suits all fitness levels since most of it is driving and short walks at viewpoints. No strenuous hiking is required.

Is this one for you?Book this if your group wants to stay together and control the stops. You set the pace and skip what doesn't interest you, while the guide handles the driving and the route knowledge. A fixed itinerary tour works better if you prefer someone else to decide the day's rhythm and you want to move with a larger group.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is Halona Blowhole and what will I see there?
Halona Blowhole is a natural formation on Oahu's southeastern coast where underwater lava tubes create a hole in the rocky shoreline. As waves crash against the shore, water is forced into the hole and shoots up into the air, sometimes reaching 30 feet high. A dramatic display that happens continuously as the ocean swells.
How much time do we spend in Haleiwa, and what is there to do?
Haleiwa gets 90 minutes on the tour. The town is known as the Surf Capital of the World and has art galleries, local boutiques, and the world-famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice. It's a charming historic town built around surf culture, so you can browse shops, grab food, or just walk around the laid-back atmosphere.
Can our group skip stops we don't want to see?
Yes. Since this is a private charter, your group controls which stops you visit and how long you stay at each one. Your guide will navigate and share information about the route, but you decide what matters to your day.
What is included in the tour price?
The tour includes an air-conditioned vehicle sized for your group, a live English-speaking guide, and hotel or meeting-point pickup. Meals and shopping are on your own, though the route passes through areas where you can eat and browse: the North Shore, Haleiwa, the Dole Plantation and Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut outlet all have food and gift shops.
How large a group can fit in one vehicle?
The operator has vehicles ranging from vans to large motor coaches, so the size depends on your group. Larger groups travel in a bigger coach. Smaller groups fit in a van. Confirm your group size when you book so the right vehicle is assigned.
Is this tour good for families with young children?
Yes. Infants and small children can ride in a stroller or pram, and infants can sit on an adult's lap. The tour is suitable for all fitness levels since most of the day is spent in the vehicle or at easy viewpoints with short walks: no strenuous hiking required.
