Mangrove creeks, winding rivers, and productive flats across a single tide

A private inshore fishing charter in Naples puts you on a boat with a licensed local captain navigating the Ten Thousand Islands: mangrove-lined shorelines, protected backwaters and barrier islands where snook, redfish, spotted seatrout and tarpon move with the season. Your captain customizes the route around tides and current fish activity, moving between secluded backcountry and open bays depending on conditions and what's biting.

Step-by-step itinerary

Private Naples inshore fishing charter

  • Meet captain at 1500 Danford St
  • Board boat and review itinerary
  • Exit marina and run through Gordon Pass
  • Fish and explore Dollar Bay area
  • Return to departure location

The experience

You meet your captain at the Naples marina on Danford Street with ample parking and restrooms. The boat runs through Gordon Pass on most days as you head into the fishery. From there, the captain reads the water (tides, weather, what's active that day), and plots a course through the productive areas of this expansive system. Dollar Bay, depending on the season, can hold excellent fish and scenery in a single stop.

The variety of water available within the Ten Thousand Islands means no two trips follow the same path. One day you might work secluded mangrove creeks where snook hunt in the shallows. Another you're on open bays casting to redfish and spotted seatrout along island shorelines. Your captain handles navigation and knows where the fish are moving. You bring the casting arm. All fishing equipment, safety gear and licenses are provided, so you show up ready to fish.

Charter lengths run four or six hours depending on which option you book. Morning departures leave at 7am. The afternoon charter departs at 2pm. The captain brings you back to the same dock when the time is up, and you're back in Naples before the day gets away from you.

Top questions

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What species can I expect to catch in the Ten Thousand Islands?

Snook, redfish, spotted seatrout, snapper and tarpon are the primary targets, though which species are most active depends on the season and current conditions. Your captain knows what's feeding that day and positions the boat accordingly.

Does the charter include all the fishing gear I need?

All fishing and safety equipment is provided, along with your fishing license. Bottled water is included. Bring your own food and drinks if you want them on the water.

What is Dollar Bay and why does the captain fish there?

Dollar Bay is a productive spot within the Ten Thousand Islands system that can hold excellent fish depending on the time of year and weather. It also offers great scenery, so even slower fishing moments come with views of the mangrove ecosystem.

How does the captain decide where to fish on the day of my charter?

The captain customizes the route around tides, weather and current fish activity. The Ten Thousand Islands offer many different water types (backcountry creeks, open bays, island shorelines), so the captain moves between them based on where the fish are feeding that day.

Is there a bathroom on the boat?

The boat does not have an on-board restroom. The marina where you meet has restroom facilities, and you can use them before boarding.
