The experience
You're in Naples for a few days and want to fish, not spend half the day driving to a dock. The charter meets you at a marina 10 minutes from wherever you're staying, so the whole trip fits into a morning or afternoon. The boat is a 33-foot catamaran, the newest in the area, powered by twin 350hp Mercury engines that run smooth and quiet. It's built wide, 10 feet 8 inches, so six people can spread out and move around the deck without crowding, and there's a large platform with handrails for getting in and out of the water safely.
The captain takes you out of the Cocohatchee River basin, past Pelican Isle Yacht Club, and into the Gulf of Mexico. Because the Gulf is shallower than the Atlantic, the boat runs 10 to 40 miles offshore to reach the deeper water where bigger fish live. A 4-hour trip doesn't have time for that kind of distance, so the afternoon charter gives you more fishing time at depth. The morning departure leaves at 7am and the afternoon at 2pm. All fishing gear, safety equipment and licenses are provided, along with bottled water. The captain is a local who knows the Gulf and runs the day. Gratuities are optional but suggested.
When your time is up, the captain brings you back to the same dock where you started. The marina has restrooms and ample parking. If you want to stay in the area after fishing, nearby options include Clams Pass Park, the Bird Gardens of Naples, or the Naples Botanical Garden.
What’s included

Is this one for you?Book the morning departure if you want to start early and have the rest of your day free. The afternoon charter at 2pm works better if you're sleeping in or have other plans in the morning. Both trips are four hours, so the choice is really about when you want to fish and what fits the rest of your Naples schedule.
