The experience
The boat holds up to 6 people, and booking it reserves the entire vessel for your group alone. You spend the first part of the charter fishing the backcountry waters with an expert captain who knows where grouper, barracuda, yellowtail snapper, mangrove snapper and sharks are running. All bait and fishing equipment come with the charter, so you don't bring anything except yourself. The captain handles the navigation and the instruction, whether you've fished before or never held a rod.
After you've caught what you're after, the day splits. Some groups anchor at a secluded sandbar with a lily pad float and spend the remaining hours there. Others head to the coral reefs for snorkeling. The captain guides you to the spots where the tropical marine life is densest, and all snorkeling gear (mask, fins, snorkel) is on the boat and ready to use. The water is clear enough that you see the reef structure and the fish moving through it, not just a hazy blue.
The whole charter runs 4 hours from start to finish. Gas, taxes and the captain's expertise are all rolled into one price. Families bring kids as young as infants (they sit on a lap), and the captain adjusts the pace and the depth to match who's on board. Service animals are welcome.
What’s included

Is this one for you?Book this if your group wants to fish first and keep the option to snorkel or sandbar afterward: the captain builds the day around what you catch and what appeals to you when the fishing is done. If snorkeling is your only goal, you can ask the captain to skip the fishing and head straight to the reef, but the charter is priced as a fishing-first experience.

Top questions
Can I fish and snorkel on the same charter, or do I have to pick one?
You fish first, then choose your second activity: either the sandbar or the snorkel. The captain doesn't run both back-to-back in a single 4-hour charter.
What fish are we likely to catch in Key West waters?
The captain targets grouper, barracuda, yellowtail snapper, mangrove snapper and sharks. What you actually hook depends on the season and what's running that day, but these species are the reliable targets in the backcountry.
Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear?
No. All snorkeling equipment (mask, fins and snorkel) is provided on the boat and included in the charter price.
Is the sandbar a real place we can walk on, or just a shallow spot?
It's a secluded sandbar where you can actually get out of the water. The charter includes a lily pad float so you have something to rest on or hold onto while you're there.
Can small children come on this charter?
Yes. Infants and small children can ride on the boat. Infants sit on an adult's lap. The captain designs the fishing and snorkeling to work for families, so the pace and depth adjust to who's aboard.
How far from Key West does the boat go?
You're fishing and snorkeling in the Florida Keys Marine Sanctuary, which is the backcountry and reef system around Key West. The exact distance depends on where the captain finds the best fishing and snorkeling that day.
