The experience
You meet your captain and deckhand at the boat in Fort Lauderdale, then head through the intracoastal waterway out into the Atlantic. The charter is built around versatility: the captain reads the conditions and the bite, switching between trolling for sailfish and mahi-mahi, live baiting for wahoo and kingfish, and deep dropping on wrecks for grouper and other bottom dwellers. You're not locked into one technique or one spot. Four hours is enough time to try a few different approaches and chase whatever is feeding that day.
All the gear you need is on board: rods, reels, tackle and bait are included, along with your fishing license. The captain and mate handle the heavy work of setting lines and reading the water, but you're the one fighting the fish when something takes. If you land a catch, the crew photographs it with you, then cleans and ices it for the trip back. Kids can come along. The boat is set up to handle families, and the crew knows how to keep younger anglers engaged.
The charter returns to Fort Lauderdale with your catch packed and ready. Bring sunscreen and a hat, and plan to be on the water for the full four hours. There's a convenience store next to the dock if you want to grab water or snacks before departure.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What fish are we actually targeting on this charter?
Sailfish, mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo, kingfish, blue marlin and white marlin are all possibilities depending on the season and what's feeding. The captain adjusts tactics throughout the day to chase whatever is biting.
Do I need my own fishing license?
No. Your fishing license is included with the charter, so you're legal to fish the moment you leave the dock.
What happens if we catch fish?
The crew photographs your catch with you, then cleans and fillets it on the boat. Everything gets packed in ice and coolers so you can take it home or to a restaurant to cook.
Is this charter good for someone who has never fished before?
Yes. The captain and mate do most of the technical work: reading the water, setting lines, finding the fish. Your job is to hold the rod and reel when something strikes, and the crew walks you through it.
How does the charter work if I'm staying in Fort Lauderdale without a car?
The boat departs from Fort Lauderdale itself, and public transportation options are available near the dock, so you can reach it without a rental car or rideshare if needed.
