The experience
The boat leaves the inlet and within two miles you're fishing in deep water, targeting big game species like mahi mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, sharks, snapper, grouper and king mackerel. The crew handles the setup: the first mate casts the lines and you're off to the grounds. The 52' Hatteras is fully customized with navigation and electronic equipment, and the captain and crew guide you through the fight when you hook something. You can work the rods in the cockpit, relax in the air-conditioned cabin, or join the captain on the bridge to watch the water.
The charter rotates through different fishing methods and locations to match what you're after. Kite fishing and live bait target sailfish; wreck diving reaches snapper, grouper and amberjack in sunken ships; trolling and bottom fishing produce mahi mahi, tuna and wahoo. If the goal is something big, the crew rigs shark rods with bloody dead bait. Any edible fish you catch gets filleted and bagged by the crew so you leave with dinner.
What’s included

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What fish can I catch on a deep sea charter from Fort Lauderdale?
The charter targets mahi mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, sharks, snapper, grouper, cobia, king mackerel, bonita and barracuda depending on the season and conditions. The crew adjusts methods (kite fishing, trolling, wreck diving and bottom fishing) to match the species you want to pursue.
Do I need my own fishing rod and tackle?
Fishing tackle is included in the charter price, so you arrive with nothing but your fishing license, which is also included. The crew provides everything you need to fish.
What happens to the fish I catch?
Any edible fish you catch is filleted and bagged by the crew at the end of the trip so you can take it home to cook for dinner.
Can I stay inside the boat if I don't want to be in the sun?
Yes. The 52' Hatteras has an air-conditioned cabin where you can relax while the crew fishes, or you can move between the cabin, the cockpit and the bridge depending on where you want to be.
How far offshore does the charter go?
The fishing grounds start just two miles from the inlet in deep water, so very little time is spent traveling. The charter then moves to different locations and depths depending on what species you're targeting.
