Step-by-step itinerary
Paddle Pub tour on Halifax River
- Board the pedal-powered pontoon boat
- Pedal along the IntraCoastal Waterway
- Watch for dolphins, sea turtles, and birds
- View Daytona's Tortugas Baseball Stadium
- Enjoy sights and sounds from Caribbean Jacks
The experience
You show up ready to pedal. Twelve cycle stations power the 20-passenger pontoon, so you and your group take turns at the pedals while the boat glides down the Halifax River: the Intracoastal Waterway that runs through Daytona Beach. A USCG captain handles the steering and navigation. The boat carries coolers, a high-top bar, a sound system and party lighting, so the pedaling is the activity and the atmosphere is the point.
The two-hour cruise passes Daytona's Tortugas Baseball Stadium and the waterfront strip where Caribbean Jacks sits right on the water. You'll catch the smell of the food and sometimes the sound of their live bands drifting across. Watch for dolphins, the occasional sea turtle, and plenty of birds working the shoreline. A First Mate is on board to help manage the group and keep things moving.
Restrooms are on board, and the boat is suitable for all fitness levels. The pedaling is shared among the group, so nobody has to power the whole thing alone. Bring whoever wants to be there. The minimum age is 18.
