Glide across glowing water under the stars on the Halifax River

Night Glow Paddleboard Tour is a 90-minute guided paddleboard adventure on Daytona Beach's Halifax River where you paddle LED-lit inflatable boards through calm waters at night. The waterproof lights beneath your board illuminate fish, dolphins and the river bottom as you drift past the mosaic art under the bridge and Beach Street's lights. A live English-speaking guide leads groups of all fitness levels. Children are welcome from age 14. Life vest, paddleboard, paddle and guide are included.

The experience

What makes this different from a daytime paddle is the light show underneath you. The LED-lit boards turn the Halifax River into something you've never seen before: fish dart through the glow, and if you're lucky, dolphins move through the water around you. The calm evening conditions mean you're not fighting current or wind, just floating in the cool night air and taking in the view of Beach Street lit up along the shore.

The tour runs 90 minutes total. You'll paddle past the mosaic art under the bridge, drift through the quieter stretches of the river, and spend the whole time on water that's lit from below. The guide stays with the group and points out what's moving in the glow. It's designed for experienced paddlers, so you're comfortable on a board, but the pace is serene, not a workout. Pirate Bay Paddle is the first operator in Daytona Beach to run this tour, so it's genuinely new to the area.

You get a paddleboard, paddle, life vest and the guide's attention for the full hour and a half. Bring a towel and wear clothes you don't mind getting wet. The night air is cool but the water itself is calm. Public transportation stops are nearby if you're not driving.
