The experience

First thing I noticed was how the air in Waikiki feels: warm but not heavy, and there’s this faint smell of plumeria even before you see any flowers. On the drive back through Honolulu traffic, sunburned and full and kind of tired in a good way, I caught myself wishing every place could feel this easy to get close to.
